The Swift Racing Irish Masters Coastal Championships, hosted by Olderfleet Rowing Club, will take place this Saturday, 9th May, in Glenarm on Northern Ireland’s stunning Antrim Coast.
More than 80 crews from across Ireland, alongside visiting international competitors from England, Wales, Jersey and Italy, are set to compete in a packed day of racing across Masters men’s, women’s and mixed coastal sculling categories.
Racing will take place over a challenging 3,000-metre coastal course, with open water conditions and buoy turns providing an exciting test of endurance, skill, tactics and boat handling.
The championships continue to grow in reputation each year, attracting both experienced international athletes and clubs making the journey to Glenarm for the first time. Spectators can expect close racing throughout the day, alongside the unique atmosphere and camaraderie that coastal rowing is renowned for.
Swift Racing Boats Ireland and RowFit continue their valued support of the event, helping to support the continued growth and development of coastal rowing in Ireland. Swift Racing Boats Ireland will also have boats available throughout the weekend for crews to view and test.
Olderfleet Rowing Club is looking forward to welcoming athletes, supporters and spectators to Glenarm for what promises to be another memorable weekend of racing on the Causeway Coastal Route.
