With the international season wrapping up we would like to congratulate Queens University Rowing Club and the outstanding success it has had this year as a club. Queens is a Rowing Ireland partnered University working closely together to attract and develop high performance athletes throughout Ireland. This year alone, four Queens athletes competed at the Under 23 World Championships, all four taking away medals in Olympic category boats (2 Bronze, 2 Silvers), as well as five Queens athletes having recently competed in the Senior World championships, the first steps towards Paris Olympics 2024.

Outside of the success of the results had by Queens athletes, we are also proud announce the development of the “Queens Junior Rowing Academy” which is a joint venture between Rowing Ireland and Queens. Involving the creation of a Junior club within Queens focused on developing Junior High Performance athletes, able to one day represent Queens and Rowing Ireland at the highest level.

We would like to thank Queen’s University for its ongoing support as a partner University, notably Aiden O’Rourke (Queen’s Performance Sport Manager), Karl Oaks (Head of Sport), Queen’s Head Coach John Armstrong and all others supporting this partnership behind the scenes. We look forward to what the club, athletes and partnership can do in years to come!

We would also like to thank Sport Northern Ireland for it’s ongoing support to Rowing Ireland and it’s athletes in the North. Much of this wouldn’t be possible without you.
