The 2025 University Rowing Championships took place under sunny skies last Friday at the National Rowing Centre. Crews from eight universities across Ireland came together to compete in what is widely regarded as the pinnacle of the university rowing season.

It was a day of intense competition and impressive performances across the board.

University College Dublin (UCD) claimed both the Wylie Cup and the Bank of Ireland Cup, along with the coveted Senior Men’s 8+ Trophy, topping the points table by the end of the day.

University College Cork (UCC) had their own moments of glory, winning the Women’s Senior 8+ and celebrating individual wins in both the Men’s and Women’s Senior 1x events—courtesy of high performance athletes Adam Murphy and Margaret Cremen, respectively.

The regatta featured fierce racing from universities across the country, showcasing the depth of talent in Irish university rowing. From early heats to the final sprints, every race was a testament to the hard work and dedication of student-athletes nationwide.

The event could not have taken place without the incredible volunteers involved on the day—thank you for making it all possible.

Congratulations to all crews who took part in a fantastic day of racing!
