The Waterways Ireland ‘Row for it League’ launches next week at Limerick Regatta on April 26th, marking the beginning of an exciting season of junior racing. The league is open to J13 4x+, J14 4x+, and J15 4x+ categories for both men and women, offering young rowers a fantastic opportunity to compete and collect points throughout the season.
Winners of each race will earn 10 points in the league, with 8 points awarded for second place and 6 points for third. Points are up for grabs at Limerick, Castleconnell, Carlow, Athlone, and the final Carrick-on-Shannon Regatta, where double points will be on offer. At the end of each regatta, points from each event will be accumulated to create a leaderboard for each category, both male and female.
Limerick Regatta will be run as straight finals, meaning there will be multiple winners across the categories. Each race winner will be rewarded with a specially designed Row for it League t-shirt as a token of their success.
The season will culminate in Carrick-on-Shannon, where the overall league champions in each event will be crowned. Grand prize winners will be presented with medals and a pennant to honour their performance across the league.
