Rowing Ireland are proud to be supported by Sport Ireland and the Department of Sport through the 2026 Women in Sport Funding Programme, as part of a €4 million investment that continues to drive meaningful progress across Irish sport.
Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Patrick O’Donovan and Minister for Sport and Postal Policy Charlie McConalogue announced the investment on the 15th of July 2026 at the Sport Ireland Campus in Dublin.
This funding is central to our ambition to overcome barriers and create more opportunities for women and girls at every level of our sport. It will support our work across the four key Women in Sport policy areas:
- Coaching & Officiating
- Active Participation
- Leadership & Governance
- Visibility
We are proud to champion Women in Sport by creating inclusive opportunities that empower more women to get involved, develop and thrive in rowing.
Ceara O Connor, Women in Sport Officer for Rowing Ireland welcomed the annoucement: “We are incredibly grateful for Sport Ireland’s continued investment in Women in Sport. This funding allows us to build on the progress we’ve made, creating more opportunities for women and girls to participate, lead, coach and thrive in rowing. We look forward to continuing to work with clubs and partners across the country to make our sport more inclusive and accessible for everyone.”
