The final 17 Champions of Ireland took their place on the podium on Day 3 of the 2026 Irish Rowing Championships.

No doubt weary from the weekend’s blazing sunshine and high temperatures, yet somehow still performing at the top of their game, competitors took to the waters with determination and raced with guts. And everyone saw it. The refrain from the weekend was some variation on “the standard is so high” and “the competition is so fierce”.

Over 56 events, 211 medals and pots were awarded—less than 16 percent of those who competed ended up on the podium. However, 100 percent of the competitors showed off the best amateur flatwater rowing that Ireland has to offer, all while balancing the demands of school studies, exam years, university placements, proper 9-to-5 jobs, and family responsibilities.
