Rowing Ireland would like to congratulate Dominic Casey on winning the RTÉ Sports Manager of the Year award.
This year, Dominic coached Paul O’Donovan and Fintan McCarthy to Ireland’s first Gold Medal in Rowing at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Dominic also coached Aoife Casey and Margret Cremen, who finished eighth overall in the Lightweight Womens Double Sculls.
Dominic was part of the High-Performance Coaching Team led by High-Performance Director Antonio Maurogiovanni. Ireland had six crews competing at the Tokyo Olympics and took home a Gold and Bronze Medal.
Dominic previously won World Rowing Coach of the Year after Paul and Gary O’Donovan won Ireland’s first-ever rowing medal by winning Silver at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and winning multiple World and European Championships in the Lightweight Men’s Single and Doubles categories.
Congratulations to Dominic and his family and friends on this outstanding achievement.
