Loughros Point Rowing Club are proud to host the Swift Irish Coastal Championships 2023 in Portnoo, from the 29th-30th, July 2023.

The club has a long history of hosting successful competitions, and are confident that this year’s event will be no exception. The stunning natural scenery of the area, combined with the warm hospitality of the locals, is sure to make this a memorable experience for all who attend.

We, Loughros Point Rowing Club have been eagerly anticipating this event since 2020, we are super excited to showcase our beautiful coastal location to rowers from all over Ireland. We have been preparing diligently for the championships, and we are confident that we will provide an excellent experience for all participants. The club is looking forward to a weekend of thrilling races, high-level competition, and camaraderie among rowers. The Swift Irish Coastal Championships promise to be a highlight of the sporting calendar, and Loughros Point Rowing is honored to be the host club.

The Swift Racing support Team will also be in Portnoo, Co. Donegal from the 29th-30th
July for the Swift Irish Coastal Championships 2023, along with their fleet of boats for
hire and any expertise they can bring to bear.

announced the athletes that will represent Ireland at World Cup III 2023, in Lucerne, Switzerland.

These are provisional crews and will be confirmed on Monday 3rd July.

Racing will take place from the 7th July – 9th July in Lucerne, Switzerland.

The organising committee for the Rowing Ireland 1K Classic Regatta is currently monitoring the
weather for Saturday. The committee are in contact with MET Eireann and have been informed that
an accurate high-resolution forecast for Saturday will not be available until Thursday morning. The
committee will meet at 11 am Thursday morning to consider the latest forecast and make a decision
on running of the event. The priority for the committee is to be able to run a safe and fair
competition for all entrants.

A final decision on the running of this event will be communicated to all
clubs, on our website and on all our social media channels by midday on Thursday the 29th of July.

Rowing Ireland are delighted to announce Joe Gleeson as the June Volunteer of the Month!

Joe Gleeson is a committed member of Castleconnell Boat Club. Now is his senior years, Joe skillfully coxes the Castleconnell men’s and women’s master crews and can be seen coxing out on the river as early as 7am. As well as as expertly coxing, joe also has been rowing for 65 years and continues to row in the masters crews.

Joe is described as the glue that keeps the Castleconnell Masters men and women together. Joe continues to volunteer his time to ensure the masters crews enjoy their sessions. He is always willing to help out when needed and his generosity is admired by everyone that knows him
